We aim to be open honest and balanced in our corporate social responsibility communications, even though we primarily work in an environment of discreet communications, we have never been a company to shout about our achievements. We prefer to act first and talk later.

However all of our stakeholders our clients included, have an ever greater appetite for clear communication and information about our CSR performance on all the social, economic and environmental issues, that  we are meeting the challenge of talking more about what we do and how we do it. We are committed to being clear about our priorities, and taking a more targeted approach, using clear everyday language.

We have previously offset the greenhouse gas emissions and been reducing our carbon footprint associated with the production and distribution of our business print by utilising email and the internet, saving information on the database rather than printing of the emails. We utilise fair-trade products wherever possible in our office kitchen, and all our office stationary is recyclable. Our computers and printers are Energy star compliant.

And for our printed products we have used paper stock produced from well-managed forests certified by the Forest Stewardship Council. This year, we have taken these efforts to improve our CSR performance in a sustainable way one stage further, and have produced an e-brochure available to download on our site.

We’re committed to dealing fairly with our suppliers, selling responsibly sourced quality products and deepening our relationships with loyal customers. We are committed to reducing our impact on the environment and promoting good environmental practice. We have processes and targets in place to ensure we continue to deliver our environmental commitments.

We make a positive difference to the communities where we do business. And it’s not just local people that benefit; our employees also gain new skills and confidence from participating in charitable and community initiatives. We aim to provide worthwhile, satisfying employment in a successful business to people of all ability and integrity, treat them with respect and courtesy, and recognise and reward their contributions.

Darkfield are pleased to further our involvement by means of a corporate sponsorship for the Great Ormond street Hospital for sick Children. We have staff and management in training to run the 5K race.

We are in talks with Environwise to provide our company with support that brings greater resource efficiency. This is in line with a London regional target for reducing carbon emissions by 60% by 2025
